As an adult, there are few things we encounter on a daily basis that are new to us. So when Pringles drops not one, not one-and-three-quarters, but two new (to the U.S.) Pringles flavors at the 7-Eleven, you know we gotta try ’em. Rolling out this month, the two delicious-sounding, saddle-shaped creations are Enchilada Adobada Pringles and Las Meras Meras Habaneras Pringles.
So what will these new Pringles taste like?
These new Pringles, I assume, will taste fantastic. In fact, both flavors are already “proven performers” in Mexico, according to a Kellogg’s rep. Pringles Las Meras Meras Habaneras are flavored to taste like roasted habanero peppers, lime, and salt, while Pringles Enchilada Adobada and are supposed to taste like adobo, chili peppers, lime, and salt. (And for those who aren’t familiar, Mexican adobo is a paste made of toasted and rehydrated chili peppers.) I’m expecting a deep pepper flavor, some tang from the lime, and a good amount of heat. In other words, I’m totally trying these and you can’t stop me. Will they cause a flavorsplosion so intense that I become one with The Pringle and see visions of the future through a Pringles can like That’s So Raven? We can’t know until we know. A real Schrödinger’s Cat situation (but, you know, with chips).
These new Enchilada Adobada Pringles and Las Meras Meras Habaneras Pringles are available exclusively at 7-Eleven stores now through early 2024. They are also doing a two cans for $6 promotion from May 24 through June 27, so be on the lookout for that if you want to try both.
During the World Cup last year, Lay’s released its own limited edition adobada-flavored chips, and the Sporked team absolutely loved how they tasted: tangy, spicy, and almost Takis-like in flavor. Hopefully, these Adobada Pringles can meet the high bar already set by Lay’s and will knock our socks off in that aforementioned flavorsplosion kind of way.
